Can I add waypoints & information to a track?

I have a bunch of hiking tracks imported from a website. I think I might want to add information to some of them. I have no experience with this, so any advice would be appreciated!

Have searched the forums without success. Apologies in advance for such an amateur question!

I see that in the current version, the Track button on the map gives me some options. It brings up “Add Waypoints to Track,” with some options. None of the options are, sorry, particularly useful for what I had in mind.

I wanted to be able to tap a place/point along the track and add, for instance, a water source, or a viewpoint, so that as we went along the track (walking, driving, whatever) we would see that something was coming up!

The choices of Map Center, Street Address, etc. don’t seem to match what I wanted to do: tap a spot/place along the track and add information.

Thanks to all who might chance to read this and have some advice!

You can also add Waypoints by selecting any POI or Pin on the map (or by pressing and holding anywhere to make a temporary Pin), then tap its Info Panel to bring up the Detail screen. Finally press the Route/Track button and it will be added to the current Track as a Waypoint.

Oh my gosh! As usual, PE has a method. Thank you for explaining. I will try this when we’re home from our current trip. It seems, as explained, a bit obscure for an amateur user such as myself. We’ll talk more when the iOS 7 furor is over!
