How to disable auto-dim while running pocketearth?

As I was driving, I had PocketEarth as my GPS recording tracks, searching for streets etc.

After some time, the screen dimmed. I cant see a thing.
I had to periodically tap/click on the screen to bring it out of dim mode.

is there a way to disable auto-dim? if so how?

I dont like to disable auto-dim for the ipad itself; I dont like the other apps from draining the battery unwantedly/unwillingly .

Our next update due out in a few weeks will include a setting to prevent screen dimming (during GPS usage , always, never). Currently only GPS Route Navigation mode prevents screen dimming.
