It would be nice to have annual weather statistics available under the info panel for a given place or region.A good website with weather statistics in graph form per country: http://www.weather-and-climate.comFor example Ankara, Turkey
Not necessarily since you could safely use the closest city which is in the weather database. As long as the ‘weather-city’ being used is mentioned, together with the distance from it, the user knows that it is an estimate.
On the weather-and-climate website for the US only 60+ cities are listed. There is probably an (open source) weather database available with more cities than this. (After a quick search I found http://www.worldclimate.com/sources.htm).A few other interesting weather sites:
- http://www.weatherbase.com, see data source (taken from public domain) and licensing for more information (but not open source). Also check out the ‘vacation finder‘ on this website.
- http://www.climate-charts.com/Climate-Links.html and http://www.climate-charts.com/about.html
Weatherbase also has an app in the App Store, appropriately called ‘Weatherbase App’.
