I have thought the same, but then wondered whether the text size is a street map function – and then perhaps not under Pocket Earth control.
A suggestion is to use the Accessibility Zoom function of the iPad under the General settings.
Thanks to sysops for resolving the problem. Seems to fine now.
Thanks Kritou. Good to know it is not just me. Enjoy your cup of tea

Thanks for reply above -and my apologies if I hijacked Kapomuk’s thread, but it raised a query. After discussion with Apple, they have refunded the upgrade and I have bought the Pro version so that now I am sure of where I am starting from. (Quite handy with maps 🙂 ) Existing routes exported and now imported to Pro and a happy Pocket Earth user.Obviously Pocket Earth, rather than Project Earth in the above oost!
…Perhaps you have both the free and paid versions of our app installed and opened the wrong one? (we renamed the paid version to PRO and the free version is simply called Pocket Earth now)…
Where does this difference appear? I upgraded a month or so back, once the price error had been corrected, but my copy still says ‘Project Earth 2.5’ in the about box and the home page icon still says ‘simply Project Earth’

Thanks. Btw, I’m not looking for errors, but steadily understanding how pocket earth goes together with distributed info, so looking closely at what it does while I learn.
Having a great time using it to map our local walks and hence looking forward to tracking walks on holiday later in the year
Looking at it again, the problem relates to a Wikipedia entry. Hopefully the screenshot will now upload.

I put in the start and ends points and it then generates a route… For the routes I want, I have then had to go along and put in markers (sort of waypoints, but not actually waypoints) along the way I actually want to go. (I particularly want to follow a certain route from France to Austria, with stops at various pre-determined service stations, so that we can change drivers, etc.)
BTW, if you ‘really’ want to print out the directions of your route, then I worked out that if you export your routes, e.g. via email to an external computer, as gpx format (and possibly others) you can then edit the gpx file to give just the turns etc. Printing this way does not include the names I made for the stops.
(Pity Tomtom seem to have done away with itn files…)
